The Alamos Golf Course

The Alamos Golf Course was opened in the Algarve in 2006. It is situated some 5 kilometres to the north of the town of Portimao in a 980 hectare residential estate which has yet to be developed. The Alamos Course Resort is easily found on the road that leaves Portimao going up towards Monchique. The terrain of the course is composed of attractive undulating small valleys with the higher parts covered with bush and the golf course running through the wider valleys past two lakes and with some particularly attractive views of the Monchique range of hills.

The main character of the Alamos Golf Course is its large greens that are quite often raised up from the fairway and composed of several challenging levels. The greens are therefore can be very demanding on a players putting skills. Another challenge to the golfer is the deep aggressive well placed bunkers which require accuracy for tee and fairway shots. This course together with its sister course the Morgado Golf Course will make an excellent part of a Golf Holiday Package.
