The Faldo Golf Course

The Nick Faldo Golf Course is a more recent addition to the Algarve golfing world having opened 2008 and is 6.604 metres in length with a Par-72. It is named after its architect and one of the more famous English golfers, Sir Nicholas Faldo. The championship golf course is very conveniently located just off the Alcantarilha motorway exit on the Via Infante (A 22). Golfers will have to have strategic play in mind as the golf course asks for accuracy and careful positioning to score well, and will be a big challenge to players with a handicap higher than 18.

The first hole of a Par-4 requires an uphill drive which can result in a number of risks and rewards. The fifth hole with a Par-5 is downhill has a watercourse hazard which will be encountered on 4 other holes. Again the thirteen hole of a Par-5 is also downhill and the possibility of a crosswind can be very demanding which will also be affecting play on holes fourteen and fifteen. The eighteenth hole is a Par-5 and a fitting end to a challenging round of golf and demands careful positioning to score well.
