The Penina Resort Golf Course

The Penina Resort Golf Course designed by Sir Henry Cotton has 9 holes and is part of the Le Meridien Hotel Penina Golf Resort near Portimao in the Algarve. Its original name was The North Course to separate it from the major 18 hole Penina Championship Course. It has 1.851 meters in length and is ideal for a beginner or for a good practice round.

A large lake on the Par-3 third invites beginners to go for the green with the obvious risk of falling short into the water. A Par-5 is the 499 metres fifth hole which is long, wide and straight with an elevated green which is a typical Penina golf course feature.
