The Silves Golf Course

The Silves Golf Course which was opened in 2007 and is located near to the town of Silves in the Algarve. The Silves Golf Course is one of the newer courses to be inaugurated and is surrounded by fruit orchards and small farms presenting a true feeling of the Algarve. The layout of the course has been specifically designed to test the quality of a players ability to hit a well directed ball using the correct choice of club. The drive on the opening Par-4 hole of 312 metres has to pass between the two water hazards on both flanks with a second easy uphill approach shot. A tricky Par-5 thirteenth hole of 483 metres presents a sharp dogleg before the green with water to carry if landing short. The Silves Golf Course encourages and rewards attacking play.
