The Vale do Lobo Royal Golf Course

The Vale do Lobo Royal Golf Course, Inaugurated in 1997 as a 18 hole course originates from a combination of the original conception of Sir Henry Cotton and finished later by Rocky Roquemore. It is located as part of the exclusive Vale do Lobo Holiday Resort near Almancil in the Algarve. In the past the golf course has twice been the home to Portuguese Open. The course is set amongst a rolling pine forest and attractive lakes and then down fig tree lined fairways to the impressive cliff top.

The challenging and famous Par-3 seventh hole from previous times is reborn as the spectacular sixteenth and is one of the celebrated golfing images of golf in the Algarve. The closing eighteenth hole is a tricky hole with its narrow fairway and a very deceptive green. The Par-3 ninth hole features an almost island green which demands both accuracy and good club selection from the player.
